HAVING seen your item in this week's Alcester Chronicle regarding the new sports hall at Alcester Grammar School, may I ask the following questions?
1. How was the £200,000 grant given by the council raised?
2. Why do we need another sports centre in Alcester when we have a perfectly good one at the Greig Hall?
3. If this is a "community" project where do I and a good many other local elderly folk benefit? At the age of 70 and otherwise reasonably fit, I fear that my arthritic joints would not be up to keep fit activities.
The reason I am bringing this subject up is that living where we do, the residents of Icknield Row have been in the direct line of fire with indiscriminate parking, noise, nuisance and mess from this building site.
Indeed, in spite of repeated requests, some days the residents have not been able to access their homes by car because builders' vehicles have taken up all available spaces.
