SPRING SHOW: On a chilly but sunny day, the show was surprisingly well attended by an enthusiastic number of local villagers and visitors from elsewhere.
Takings were around £200 for village hall funds, there were 38 exhibitors including nine children and 156 exhibits of which 22 were from children.
RESULTS: Flowers: 1 Ellen Fisher 15 points, 2 Sylvia Armstrong 11; Handicraft: 1 Isabel Burdock 9, 2 Sarah Burdock 7; Cookery: joint 1 Annie Wheatley 8, Carol Park 8 and Sarah Burdock 8, 4 Heather Harries 7; Cookery - men only: 1 Duncan Wheatley, 2 Ron Adamson, 3 Tim Royle; Children: 1 Edward Broom 13, joint 2 Max Stone 11 and Millie Broom 11, 4 Romilly Stone 7.
