DANIEL Garnish is fast becoming Kidderminster's very own version of the Karate Kid after winning gold at a recent tournament.
The 13-year-old took the top Sports Karate prize in the advanced division at the Appollo Martial Arts Championships in Brierley Hill. Garnish, who also earned his purple belt earlier this month, won 5-2 against a student from the host club after an impressive display.
"I'm really happy to win a nice trophy and I think I fought quite well," said Garnish.
Sport Karate is a semi-contact, safe and controlled brand of the sport for children. Garnish trains at Winspers.
