Mountinneers came from behind to reach the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup on Sunday.
Ashton took the lead on five minutes through Gregg and then defended resolutely until 18 minutes from time when centre-half Neil Hammill forced the ball home to take the game into extra time.
There was nothing to choose between the two clubs until 12 minutes from time, when Hammill went forward for a corner and headed powerfully into the net.
Red Horse must now rely on the Bear taking points from the Ambassador if they are to win the first division title for the first time, following a comprehensive defeat to the Ambie.
Goals from Clear, Tompkins, James and Brain mean that if Ambassador win their last match, Moreton Wanderers will have to beat Red Horse to lift the title. Evesham WMC closed their league campaign when two goals from Mark Haughty defeated Upton Snodsbury.
Jamie and Tom Andrews were on target as second division champions Peopleton won at Badsey Rec, and runners-up Broadway Utd fell at Bredon to a Steve Hodgson effort. Hampton WMC can still lift the division three crown following a ten-goal demolition of Norgren. Reading (3), Beattie(2) and Blake (2) were amongst the scorers. Bretforton Old Boys went top, goals from Witts, Beddoes, Major, Steeds and Lindley defeating Crowle.
Eckington and George FC will battle it out for the runners-up spot in division four following Eckington's nine-goal win at Bengeworth Sports, with Ford (3), Stevens (2), Hughes (2), Bostock and Payne finding the net. Riverside won at Royal Oak with Chris Rowberry on target while Crown Athletic defeated Bell Utd in a best of seven goals affair.
