AT the fourth annual meeting of the Kidderminster branch, the committee were re-elected en bloc.
Professional photographer Mike Wilkes's Spanish ornithological theme included scenes of rollers and bee-eaters, resident and migratory birds, and the slides also gave an insight into Spain's flora and fauna.
Members at the outdoor meeting to Severn Valley Country Park, Alveley, watched the antics of a chiff chaff, willow warbler and grey wagtail, the darting and diving of a kingfisher, and motionless red crane.
On April 27, Gerry Griffiths will lead an identification workshop. Non-members are welcome at meetings, and this programme will appeal to novice birdwatchers. The meeting, at St Oswald's Church Centre, Kidderminster, starts at 7.30pm.
On Sunday, May 1, there is an outdoor meeting to Shropshire Wildlife Trust's Venus Pool nature reserve, off the A456 between Cressage and Cross Houses, meeting in the car park at 10am. For further information on meetings, telephone 01562 67748.
