A BROADWAY student is hoping to make a difference to the lives of people thousands of miles away in Uganda.
Laura Harrison, aged 20 from High Street, will be helping to build a vocation centre in the northern part of the country. The project gives locals the chance to learn trades to become self-sufficient.
The former Prince Henry's High School pupil, currently studying for a maths degree in Exeter, said: "I read about the project in the university newspaper. I went to Uganda in my gap year and it was a really beautiful country, but I just travelled around before. Hopefully this time I will make a difference to people's lives."
Laura, who leaves for her four-week trip at the end of June, is planning a fundraising party at Broadway Football Club this Saturday. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are available on the door.
