A KIDDERMINSTER pet shop is to expand in time for the arrival of its new supermarket neighbours.
Wilsons Pet Centre, in New Road, will grow from 5,000 sq to 8,000 sq ft, said managing director, Jim Weston.
He explained the work would be complete for when the new Netto supermarket opens next door. The supermarket is to replace Somerfield, which closed on Friday of last week.
Mr Weston said: "The extra space will allow many more school visits, in-store activities and even the opening of a pet behaviour advice centre."
The aquatics section, in particular, would benefit from the extra room, he said.
"Specialist tanks will be installed and a whole new range of products will be available."
Budget supermarket, Netto, has said it expects to open within the next two months.
