THERE was a regal feel in the air at one Worcester school as youngsters got creative to rustle up birthday cards for the Queen.
Oldbury Park Primary School in Oldbury Road, Worcester, held the design-a-birthday card competition last week as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, and sent the cards in time for her birthday yesterday.
Scores of youngsters entered the competition, with seven-year-old Melissa Nash winning the key stage one category with her colourful card of the Queen in fancy garb.
And eight-year-old Max Kontic's corgi dog card won him first prize in the key stage two group.
Each lucky winner won a day out at a safari park, a disposable camera, a scrapbook and craft basket containing pens and paper. There were also prizes for second and third place.
