Friends of Welland bingo night is at the village hall tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm, coffee/tea and cakes available, 20p entrance. Great prizes and fun for all.

The junior football club will be holding an EGM tonight (Friday) at The Hill Centre, Upton at 7.30pm. Please note, this is a last-minute change of venue from Upton Sports Pavilion. All members interested in shaping the club's future with regard to girls' football, mini-soccer and youth under-18's football are urged to attend.

The first car-boot sale for Welland will be organised by the football club on Sunday, May 1 and help with marshals and catering is requested. The club's end of season World Cup day will be on Saturday, May 14 at 2pm on the Upton sports fields, everyone is welcome and there will be a bar and pig roast. The club's AGM will be on Friday, June 17 at the Upton Sports Pavilion at 7.30pm.

Lastly, details of how the village will be commemorating VE day this year. Little Malvern and Welland Parish Council, The Friends of Welland, the Doorstep Green group and the Royal British Legion will be dedicating a stone for those who fell during the last wars and who went to Welland Primary School. The dedication will take place on VE Day, Sunday, May 8 at midday in front of Welland Village Hall on the village green. There will be a church service at 11am. All welcome.
