Residents of Blackheath Way can take comfort from the recent appearance of circles of white paint in the road, which signal that the much-needed pothole repairs should be taking place within the next couple of weeks. Blackheath Way is also on the official list for full resurfacing, but we understand from the Highways Partnership that shortage of funds may mean that is still some way off.
The AGM of the Friends of the St James's Church will take place next Wednesday, April 27 at 7.30pm in the church. As well as a showing of pictures of old West Malvern, it is hoped to preview some truly breathtaking pictures of West Malvern skies offered by local residents. The Friends are planning to use these in a 2006 calendar, as one of its new fundraising ventures.
Others include a brochure about the little known life of Peter Mark Roget, creator of the famous Thesaurus, who lies buried in St James's Churchyard, and a dinner to mark the 200th anniversary of Trafalgar day on Friday, October 21.
