ONE of Malvern's most successful Sunday football sides will be reunited to play in a charity football match,
Former Worcester League premier division and WFA county cup winners, the Three Nuns, will play against a Cross Keys select XI to raise money for a young boy with cerebral palsy.
The match, at Victoria Park, Malvern, will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday, April 30.
Proceeds will help send six-year-old Marley George, from Hereford, to the groundbreaking Peto Institute in Budapest.
The institute provides treatment, education and support for people with the condition.
"We've wanted to do a big charity match for some time," said co-organiser Reg Reynolds, who runs the Cross Keys Inn in Malvern.
He said he became aware of Marley's plight through former Chelsea and Hereford United goalkeeper Tommy Hughes, who will be playing in the match.
"Tommy wanted to help and so do we," said Mr Reynolds. "The Peto Institute is very good, but very expensive, so we want to raise as much money as we can."
Mr Reynolds said former Hereford United professionals Tommy Burns and Steve Emery would also be playing.
A buffet and raffle, with entertainment by Rod Stewart tribute artist Stan Terry, will be held at the Cross Keys, Belmont Road, at 7pm. Raffle tickets are available at the pub. For details contact 01684 572945.
