BEAVERS, Cubs and Scouts in Malvern are hoping the rain stays away for their annual St George's Day parade and service of dedication.
A parade of flag bearers and up to 400 youngsters, led by the 1st Malvern Link group, will leave Avenue Road at 2.50pm.
They will take part in an open-air service in Priory Park, led by Scout chaplain Rev Alan Williams.
The youngsters and their leaders will then reaffirm their Promise and Scout Law, as part of a national act of dedication.
District Commissioner Eddie Gover highlighted the importance of the day for Scouts:
"They're overawed by it," he said. "They realise just how big our movement is in Malvern."
Sandra Starkey, Group Scout Leader of 1st Malvern Link, said: "It will be quite a different type of service to what we have normally."
Those taking part in the parade should meet at 2.30pm at the Council House car park, although parents are asked not to attempt to park there. For further details, call 01886 832064. All are welcome.
