IMPROVEMENTS should be made at Great Malvern and Malvern Link railway stations, says Malvern Hills District Council.
The council investigated local transport after a public meeting in February 2004, organised by the Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter, demonstrated public concern at problems afflicting rail services.
Now MHDC's overview and scrutiny committee has made a series of recommendations, to be discussed by the council's executive committee on Tuesday (April 26).
Its says train stations should have real-time information displays and better access, CCTV, cycle storage and waiting facilities.
Regarding buses, the council says the 42 bus service, recently rerouted to public dismay, should "maximise benefit to local people".
The report also calls for buses to serve the proposed North Site housing development, direct links between Malvern and Worcestershire Royal Hospital and transport to Malvern's new surgeries and hospital.
The council should also look at setting up a transport users' group to influence rail and bus firms.
