THREE operas are being performed in Malvern by the English Touring Opera.
The first, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, a comedy of sexual politics, it features a quartet of young lovers who find the path to happiness is not as smooth as they hoped.
The show is directed by Timothy Walker, who has starred as Hamlet and appeared as Angus in Four Weddings and a Funeral. His past directing credits include Edward II at the Globe Theatre, although this will be his first time directing opera.
Donizetti's masterpiece Mary Queen of Scots centres on the rivalry between Mary and Elizabeth I. Accompanying the vocal fireworks between the two women is a dramatic orchestral score.
Mezzo-soprano Anne Mason portrays Scotland's doomed queen as she faces her final judgement at the hands of Elizabeth, sung by soprano Jenny Rhys Davies.
The (Little) Magic Flute has been created for eight to 13-year-olds, although adults should also enjoy it. Mozart's famous opera, involving a dragon, demented sorceress, kidnapped girl and magic flute, has been cut to an accessible length.
It is brought to life by six singers and six instrumentalists.
The operas can be seen between Monday and Saturday, April 25-30. Tickets are £20 to £24, students £8 or £12 and £5 for The (Little) Magic Flute. The box office is on 01684 892277.
