MALVERN Town striker Dean Roberts came off the bench in the second-half to put the Langland Stadium side through to the final of the Worcester Infirmary Cup on Tuesday evening.
MALVERN TOWN 2, FECKENHAM 1
Malvern, who were without a league game the previous Saturday, failed to convert a couple of early chances with Phil Preedy, twice, and Richard Tompkins the guilty parties.
Just before half-time Malvern opened the scoring when Craig Williams raced through the Feckenham midfield and fed Phil Preedy, who rounded the oncoming keeper before slotting home.
The home side looked comfortable at the start of the second-half until a mistake by keeper Paul Wyatt allowed an easy equaliser.
A deep cross was dropped by Wyatt and an opposing forward tapped into the empty net.
Town striker Roberts was introduced immediately and within five minutes he was on the scoresheet to put Malvern 2-1 up.
The visiting keeper could only parry a cross-shot from Phil Preedy and Roberts was on hand to tap in.
In the last couple of minutes, Feckenham had a good appeal for a penalty waved away as Malvern booked their place in the final.
Malvern will meet the winners of the Bromyard Town and Pershore Town semi-final tie, which is still awaiting a date.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Malvern Town are at home to second-placed Chasetown, kick-off 3pm.
Manager Neil Hunt said: "It is a big game for us because if we win our last two league games we could still finish in third spot."
