BUSINESSWOMAN Louise Hewett is used to the height of success but a new challenge will see her literally go higher than ever before.

For the owner of Worcester and Kidderminster-based Hewett Recruitment is to scale three of Britain's highest peaks in 48 hours to raise money for charity.

The event is to celebrate her 25th year in business and will benefit St Richard's Hospice and St Kemp Hospice.

Louise will climb Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon on June 11 and 12 with her partner Mark Lathwood, daughter Laura, and her PA Jo Watkins and her husband Gary.

The group will be guided by expert mountaineer Malcolm Plant.

"At the start of the year we all decided we wanted to do something more useful than drowning ourselves in champagne," said Louise, who turns 50 next year. "I must admit I am nervous about it. When I went for the medical I jokingly asked the doctors if they were sure I was OK to do it."

The group has taken practice runs (or walks) up the mountains Cader Idris and Snowdon to get their bodies used to the climbs.

And while the first expedition went without a hitch, the second was a somewhat hair-raising experience.

"The weather on Snowdon was absolutely awful," added Louise. "We couldn't see our hands in front of our faces. That brought home to me how dangerous it could be and why we needed an expert with us."

Louise and her team are now concentrating on their fund-raising efforts.

Several generous businesspeople have already made donations of up to £100 each, but more is being sought.

As well as the three peaks challenge, as it is being called, Hewett Recruitment also plans to put on a raffle and an auction of promise later this year.
