COLWALL finished second in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor Monday League after winning their final game by 32 runs.

Despite a bad start, the village side scored 140-4 and opponents RW Exiles fell short in reply, ending up on 108-5.

Mike King was dismissed without scoring in the first over but Jordon Kontarinas and Tom Wolfendale had added 55 runs by the sixth over.

Kontarinas retired on 25 from only 12 deliveries and Wolfendale did likewise following 27 runs from 20 balls.

James Wagstaff was run out for 12 and more bad calling resulted in Lee Hankins departing in a similar fashion for 11 with the score on 86.

Kontarinas returned to join Mark Shouler who was bowled by Matt Champion in the 11th over for 17.

However, Wolfendale (42 not out) and Kontarinas (44 not out) struck up another good partnership.

For Exiles, Champion claimed 1-36 with the ball and Alex Hall 1-32.

In reply, Hall was run out for 11 but Liam Woods and Graham Woodbridge accelerated the total to 66 by the end of the sixth over.

Woods (12) was trapped lbw by Shouler (1-12) and Woodbridge (23) was stumped off a delivery from Wagstaff (1-25).

Glen Collins finished on 23 not out but Exiles lost Dan Hughes (22) and Champion as Colwall secured victory.

The Fossils defeated Worcester Nomads 'B' by 13 runs following a handy 129-4. They started steadily through brothers Tim and Rich Williams before the former was run out for 23.

Rich Williams retired on 25 from 12 balls but replacements Martin Woodward (13) and Kevin Gilbert (22) were both dismissed.

Kevin Ingram (16 not out) and Cliff Rawlings (six) added further runs, while Rich Williams was back to finish on 32 not out. For Nomads, Jamie Smith (1-32) was the only wicket-taker.

Nomads finished short on 116-5 after Rich Lisle and Andy Leach had got them off to a good start with 57 runs by the middle of the sixth over.

However, Leach was run out for 25 and Lisle retired for the same score, forcing Nomads onto the back foot.

They lost Smith for a duck and Geoff Taylor (three) also went cheaply to Tim Williams (1-27) and Woodward respectively.

Dave Pearson and Guy Davies stepped up the run-rate with 23 runs before Ingram swooped to trap Pearson (16).

Lisle, who took the score to 109 with Davies by the fourth ball of the last over, was forced into giving a catch by Woodward (2-32).

Lisle had scored 30 and Davies finished on 28 not out.
