MANCUNIAN singer-songwriter Clive Gregson is set to pay a visit to Colwall next month for a concert.

Clive was in the band Any Trouble and one half of Gregson Collister with Christine Collister and now plays with Eddi Reader, Boo Hewerdine and Nanci Griffith in between solo projects and producing.

And he will be performing at Colwall Village Hall in Mill Lane at 8pm on Saturday, May 14.

It will be the singer's first visit to the area since a gig at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall four years ago.

Clive's songs have been recorded by many artists including Nanci Griffith, Kim Carnes, Fairport Convention, Claire Martin, Norma Waterson and Smokie.

He pursued a solo career in music after the band Any Trouble split in 1984 and, between 1985 and 1992, formed a partnership with Christine Collister that Rolling Stone magazine called "the state of the art in British folk-rock".

Throughout this period, Clive was also a member of the Richard Thompson Band and in demand as a record producer and session musician.

He has been involved in various musical projects since, including a musical partnership with Boo Hewerdine and various solo albums.

Tickets for the gig are £10/£5, available by calling Adrian Mealing on 01684 540366 or e-mailing him at adrian@uktouring.org.uk
