THE presidents of Worcester's four Rotary clubs have been presented with a cheque for £7,366 to go towards rebuilding and educational projects in areas affected by the Asian tsunami.
The money was raised by the city's mayor, Coun Allah Ditta, from a collection in the High Street and donations from the Muslim Welfare Association.
Coun Ditta is pictured with the cheque alongside Rotary presidents John Coverdale, Bryan Neville-Lee, Tony Audas and Peter Fitzjohn.
The money, which will be split equally between Worcester Rotary Club, Worcester South, Worcester Wychavon and Worcester Severn, will also pay for shelter boxes. Each box contains a 10-man tent, sleeping bags, tools and cooking aids.
