STAR striker Adam Webster was delighted at scooping the honours at Worcester City's end-of-season presentation evening.

Webster, 24, bagged the Players' Player of the Year, Supporters' Player of the Year and Most Improved Player awards.

The treble gongs capped a tremendous campaign for the former Bedworth United forward, who joined City in December 2001 for a four-figure fee.

Webster's 22 league strikes have taken him third in Nationwide North's goal-scoring charts, despite nursing a painful ankle injury for most of the season.

"I'm obviously delighted. It was nice to pick up all three awards," said Webster. "It was a big surprise because I never expected to pick up any and there have been one or two players that have shined this season.

"There's a big question mark for me with the most improved player award. It makes you think 'Was I rubbish before?' but everyone tells me it's because I've come on well from last season and that's the way I've got to look at it.

"The supporters have been good for me this year. Since I came to Worcester I don't think I've had that many friends.

"When I first came I was a big signing for the club and most of the fans were expecting me to do what I've done this season. But my confidence has grown and I now seem to have won over the majority of fans.

"It's been a great season for myself, though I've had a lot of help from John Barton when he was there, the new management team, other players and fans."
