WHEN MG Rover collapsed, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown immediately charged off to Birmingham with £150m of taxpayers' money to "help those affected".
A sad-looking Tony and Gordon duly announced their generosity to what is, after all, a private company, in front of the massed ranks of the Press.
Now Littlewoods have announced 3,200 job losses. Where are Tony and Gordon? Nowhere to be seen.
It seems they regard being seen to help those made redundant by a car manufacturer as a better vote grabber than helping those made redundant by a retailer.
