A NEW recruitment agency in Worcester has announced it has more than a dozen jobs on its books suitable for former MG Rover workers living in the city.
Expeto recruitment, which specialises in engineering manufacturing, executive, clerical and administration sectors, only opened in Foregate Street four weeks ago and is eager to help some of the people made redundant by the carmaker.
"There are about 12 vacancies of all positions in and around Worcester on our list at the moment," said the managing director of the firm, Mark Lawson.
"With the current situation it would be great if MG Rover workers could get these, although obviously it would have to be the right people."
Mr Lawson said that many companies in the area were wary of hiring Rover workers as they had been "used" last time.
"The last time Rover nearly crashed a lot of people jumped ship and then went back when the situation was resolved," he added.
"A lot of companies
felt that they were being used as a bus stop and are wary in case the same happens again.
"We are doing what we can to reassure firms and I am confident that ex-MG Rover workers will do the jobs well."

n A call has gone out from Bromsgrove Council to help former Rover workers living in the district.
Peter Michael, the authority's economic development officer, is appealing for companies to 'think local' if they are recruiting.
"There are more than 600 ex-Rover workers living in the district," he said. "Let's do what we can to place them."
