WELL-known Worcester businessman, Mike Brown, has died at the age of 60 after losing a two-year battle with cancer.
Originally from Glasgow, Mr Brown had lived in Worcester for nearly 40 years and founded both Foregate Street Investments and Paramount Windows.
He was president of the Chamber of Commerce in the 1980s and was a former chairman and president of Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club, captain of the first team of Worcester Golf Club and Worshipful Master of Lewisham Masonic Lodge, Birmingham.
He was also a keen sailor and many of his Worcester friends have sailed with him over the years, most recently on his own yacht, Culwatty.
Mr Brown had been nursed at his home in Britannia Square by his wife, former opera singer Anne Linstrum Brown, and his two daughters, Hannah and Suzi.
"We would like to thank all the district nurses and Marie Curie nurses, who have helped us tremendously," said Hannah.
A funeral service will be held at Woodgreen Church, Warndon Villages, at 11am on Friday, April 29, followed by burial at Astwood Cemetery.
Afterwards a wake for his family, many friends and former colleagues will be held at the Talbot public house, Barbourne Road, Worcester.
