A MAN escaped from his floating car after it plunged into a river this morning.
The Kidderminster man kicked out the window of his Honda car after it ended up in the River Stour at about 8am.
He was driving along St Mary's ring road in the town when his car skidded on the damp surface and went through a barrier.
The car floated towards Church Street where he managed to escape.
He was not seriously hurt but was cold and suffering from shock.
He was taken to Kidderminster Hospital.
Motorists were due to expect delays on the ringroad this morning while the vehicle was recovered and a structural engineer checked for damage.
In a separate collision the A448 Kidderminster to Bromsgrove road was blocked after two cars collided at about 7.20am.
No one was injured.
