SUPERSTOCKS speedster Andy Tinsley was fortunate to escape with just bruises after crashing out at 130 mph at Mallory Park on Sunday.
The Buildbase Knotts-Magnum rider, starting from pole position, had just recorded a new lap record of 93.99 mph and was leading the race when his Suzuki GSX-R 1000 lost grip during the fifth lap on the huge right-hand curve of Gerrards.
Tinsley said: "It was a silly error on my part, I was pushing a little to hard to get a gap on the chasing pack and the rear wheel lost grip and the rest is history."
The Tinman dropped to second spot in the championship points table.
Team mate Luke Quigley on the Honda 600 RR was 11th in the British Supersport race, recording 91.34 mph for the 23-lap race and is 12th in the championship.
Buildbase Knotts-Magnum team manager Dave Worthington said: "We've come away from Mallory with a lot of positives.
"Andy is on the pace with a pole position, new lap record and leading when he went down and in Supersport, Luke and the team are learning more about the set up of the Hondas, resulting in us qualifying in 12th position rather than to 31st in the previous round."
The team is next in action at Oulton Park, Cheshire on May 1 and 2.
