THE Churchmen made light work of a youthful looking Bromsgrove Rovers Reserves team on the way to picking up the Worcestershire Senior Urn at Kidderminster Harriers' Aggborough Stadium.
It's the fourth straight year the Lye Meadow outfit has picked up the prestigious trophy and this time it was three goals in a blistering ten minute spell which saw the Churchmen take the honours.
Matt Hawker was the first on the scoresheet after Gareth Davies' left wing cross was a perfect height for the on loan Solihull Borough central midfielder to head past Paul Maynard in the Bromsgrove net after 14 minutes.
Five minutes later Andy Dodds scampering run down the right wing wasn't wasted as his cross for the in-form Keith Rostill was hammered home.
Rostill turned provider on 24 minutes as a mistake by the Bromsgrove defence let in the Church striker before he slid through for strike-partner Liam O'Shea to slot home.
Hawker should have put the game further out of the reach of Bromsgrove four minutes before the end of the first half as he latched on to Neil Kitching's cross but Hawker saw his shot skim off the right hand post.
More clear-cut chances came the way of the Church after the break as O'Shea put through Kitching one on one with Maynard but the Bromsgrove keeper came out on top.
Rostill hit the post on 53 minutes after another Gareth Davies cross from the left. Davies himself could have scored on 68 minutes after he followed in another cross from the right.
Church boss Peter Frian said: "I thought we were comfortable winners but we just needed to be professional about it and that's what we were.
"It's great for the lads to come away with some silverware again this season and hopefully that win will qualify us for the Worcestershire Senior Cup next season."
Frain also had a good word for goalscorer Matt Hawker. "He should be the type of player we want to attract at this club for next season if we want to progress as a club," added Frain.
