Winyates Green SCSA racer Mike Luck is preparing well for his first outing of the season at Rockingham, near Corby.
After finishing in second place in last year's rookie cup Luck is all fired up for this seasons campaign starting on Sunday (May 1).
He said: "Last year was a learning year and I have got to be looking for regular top ten finishes now.
"I need consistency and with the limited track time before the races, the drivers who have been in it from the start have a distinct advantage.
"We are definitely underdogs but are equally determined to upset the form book. If we don't have consistency we don't finish races and we don't get the prize money."
The team showed off the new car recently but the first test on track will be on Saturday, prior to Sunday's races.
Luck's team has also got the backing of Beta Tools, SFS Performance of Luton and Techsil of Redditch.
