RUBERY is a tip and I believe few people would disagree with this assessment.
Every surface seems to be a target for all manner of refuse from beer and soft drinks cans, broken glass, to the revolting remnants of takeaway food.
This week, the Callowbrook underpass was strewn from end to end with chip wrappers and their stomach churning contents. If people wish to consume this food in the street, then that is their business but other pedestrians shouldn't have to tread in it after it has been discarded after the first mouthful.
The pavements are an obstacle course owing to parked vehicles and I can seldom walk the length of New Road without having to step into the roadway. There seems to be no sanctions against motorists who wait within the zig-zags of the zebra crossing even after the intervention of our member of parliament. This area is covered by two CCTV cameras; hardly a good investment.
Very shortly the usual suspects will be standing for election, having stood by for years and allowed this situation to come about. Time to give them the bum's rush.
