Droitwich Spa 1 Feckenham Reserves 1
DROITWICH'S hopes of winning automatic promotion from the Midland Combination Division Two came to end after Feckenham held them on Monday night.
Spa, playing their fourth game in a week, had to win the game to give themselves a chance of catching second placed University of Birmingham.
However, Spa found themselves trailing 1-0 after defender Lee Elvins conceded a first half penalty.
Matt Crawford though scored the equaliser five minutes later.
Manager Kevin Blaber said: "I didn't think it was a penalty, Lee and the striker ran into each other.
"Decisions like that have cost us dearly this season."
On Saturday goals for Richard Maguire and Greg Cooper had handed Droitwich a comfortable 2-0 win over West Midlands Police.
Droitwich had also kept their top two hopes alive by defeating Handsworth United 2-1 on April 21 .
Assistant manager Tom Goss and Maguire hit the back of the net.
The result was a welcome boost for Blaber's side after Droitwich had slipped to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of West Hagley on April 19, despite Andy Keenahan's brace.
Blaber said: "It's been a difficult week with so many games.
"We had to win all our matches to have a hope of catching the top two, but that's out of the question now."
Droitwich take on Himley Athletic away on Saturday (2.45pm kick off), before playing Mile Oak Rovers at home on Bank Holiday Monday (12.30pm kick off).
