Atherstone Town 7 Fairfield Villa 0
TWO defeats in a week mean the relegation trap door swung open below demoralised Fairfield Villa.
Fairfield suffered a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Midland Combination Division One title chasers Atherstone Town on Saturday.
Villa had already suffered a 3-1 defeat by mid-table Littleton on April 20.
The losses ensured that manager Neil Gallagher's side is in serious danger of slipping out of Division One.
Villa are only one point ahead of second from bottom Burntwood Town and have played one game more.
Fairfield have three games to save themselves from relegation, playing Polesworth North Warwick on Saturday, fellow strugglers Newhall United on Bank Holiday Monday and ending the season on May 4 at home to Loughborough.
Gallagher will be keeping his fingers crossed that Burntwood slip-up in their remaining four games against Newhall United tomorrow night (Thursday), Kenilworth Wardens at home on Saturday, Littleton on Bank Holiday Monday and Old Hill Town way on May 4.
