A KINDHEARTED seven-year-old has been busy making pom poms to help blind children.
Jacob Blasdale, from Millfields First School, is making the woollen balls to raise cash for a charity which creates Braille books for youngsters.
The enterprising child enlisted a group of friends to put posters around the school and then took orders for the pom poms, which he has made by himself.
Headteacher Sarah Power said: "This is fantastic idea.
"Jacob decided he wanted to raise cash completely off his own back after seeing a leaflet for the charity.
"He wanted to help blind children read as much as he did.
"He made me a pom pom for Christmas and decided he could make some more and sell them."
