TENANTS in Droitwich are being urged to go green and are being helped out by their landlord.
Spa Housing Association is taking measures to ensure that its 3,000 properties in the town and surrounding areas, including Redditch, Bromsgrove and Hartlebury, are more energy efficient.
"A number of projects are underway to improve our homes and make them more environmentally friendly," said Albert Higgins, of Festival Housing Group, which includes Spa Housing.
The measures include improved thermal insulation to lofts and walls, installation of high efficiency boilers and switching homes from electric and solid fuel to gas and oil heating.
About 12,000 low energy light bulbs have also been distributed free to tenants to help keep lighting costs down.
