Pershore 144-7 Droitwich 141 all out
DROITWICH warmed up for the Worcestershire League Division One with an entertaining game on Saturday against last season's champions.
Last summer's top two both had reasons for feeling happy about this closely fought game.
While Pershore, promoted to the Birmingham and District League Division Three, will take local bragging rights with victory there were several promising performances by Droitwich.
Paul Bryan took two wickets, while Richard Ferley bowled economically on his debut for his wicked, as Pershore were restricted to 144-7.
Bryan struck 52 runs, while Ian Cottrill and Mike Rogers both hit 22 runs each but Droitwich were restricted to 141 all out.
Captain Steve Walsh said: "Everybody did quite well and it was an excellent warm up."
Droitwich start the season on Saturday at home to Stourbridge.
