THE April meeting saw members dressed in Sunday best, celebrating the 85th Birthday in style.
Together with the county's outgoing chairman, incoming chairman and the WIA, members started with photographer for the evening, David (W, not B), taking a group photograph.
A minimal amount of business was dealt with before all sat down to dinner. Members from The Lenches WI prepared, cooked and served a splendid meal fit for a future king and his new wife.
Carol Ross showed everyone the special birthday book that a group of members had compiled over the last year. Through a mixture of written articles and photographs, it shows life in Inkberrow as it is today.
Speaker for this occasion was Beryl Maile, professional artist, TV presenter and after-dinner speaker.
She combined talent, sharp wit and humour to give over an hour of entertainment and laughter.
She demonstrated how she painted flowers and landscapes and at the same time gave a lighthearted commentary. With audience participation she, was able to transform a squiggle into a humorous caricature.
President Sue cut a beautiful birthday cake, cooked, iced and decorated by Pat and Barbara.
