ST PETER'S is feeling the benefit of having a new bobby on the beat, who has recently been joined by a Community Support Officer.
Beat manager Andy Hall was only assigned to the post in March and was joined by his right-hand man, Jason Atkins at the beginning of the month.
The efforts of the pair were praised by St Peter's Tesco manager, Andy Sanderson at Monday's parish council meeting.
"Some positive work is being done and they are very quick to come over and deal with things," he said.
Mr Atkins said was delighted with his new post.
"I'm really excited about it and am learning all about the area," he said.
Sergeant Jeoff Murphy said that there were now three Community Support Officers serving the city, providing an important link with the community.
"They have already proved to be of immense value to West Mercia," he said.
