GARDENING CLUB: The meeting was held at the Crawford Hall on Thursday, April 21. The speaker Ken Whittaker arrived early with his wife, to set up an excellent stall of plants from his greenhouses.
The talk was entitled An Evening with Ken Whittaker which (in his words) was a lighthearted look at the seasonal dos and don'ts in and around the garden.
He spoke about lawns and how they can enhance the rest of the garden. Following Ken's talk which had members laughing to the end, coffee and tea was served by Mr and Mrs Reeves.
The competition, Three Narcissi was won by Annette Haines, 2nd Judy Holloway, 3rd Tessa Webb, 4th Beryl Ashton. On May 21 Michael Ecob will talk about The Clun Valley Natural History & Gardens and it will be held at the Methodist Hall (for this meeting only).
