A SUPERMARKET worker who wrongly claimed more than £2,500 in benefits has appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
Tina White, 30, of Jubilee Drive, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to failing to notify the council of a change in her circumstances.
Prosecuting for Wyre Forest District Council, Nicola Cummings told the court White had increased the number of hours she was working but continued claiming housing and council tax benefits based on her former hours. As a result, she was overpaid £2,092.36 in housing benefit and £644 in council tax benefit.
As well as paying back the money, magistrates gave White a 60-hour community punishment order and ordered her to pay costs of £271.25.
