A DISABLED woman had to be pushed home in her wheelchair after her motorised scooter was damaged during an attempted theft.
The owner, who did not want to be identified and was in her 30s, had parked it outside Kidderminster's Gilt Edge Club in Zortech Avenue while she went to play bingo. While she was inside, the £2,000 scooter's control box and wiring were ripped out.
A group of five youths were seen running away following the incident, which happened at about 9.30pm on Sunday, April 17.
The damage to the scooter meant it could not be driven or pushed, leaving the victim "devastated". She said: "I have lost my independence until I can get it fixed."
One of the youths spotted leaving the scene - four boys and a girl aged about 15 to 17 - was wearing a fluorescent jacket.
Witnesses or anyone with information can contact Kidderminster police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
