A BUMPER weekend is all set for the Vale this May Bank holiday. Evesham's annual regatta takes place on the Avon on Saturday and Sunday. More than 200 entries for colourful boats will be on the water.
Villages are also going to be blooming with flower festivals and open gardens in Eckington and Cropthorne over the holiday period. Tiddesley Wood near Pershore is also holding an open day on May 1 with live music.
The next day, May 2, gardeners have a treat in store when Pershore College hosts an unusual plant sale. Lovers of vintage cars will also be able to enjoy a Humber Register rally in the Vale on Sunday.
"The oldest of the 40 cars and one motorcycle taking part is a 1905 model coming from Holland but which was first registered in Worcester, so it is coming home," said rally organiser Andrew Tarring, of Evesham.
"The youngest car was registered in 1932." The Vale drive starts at 10.30am at Evesham College car park for a tour around Bredon Hill returning for lunch at Evesham Sports Club.
"It will be quite a spectacle for anyone wishing to come along and see these fine old motors," Mr Tarring said.
