CHILDREN and staff at Pinvin Community Pre School are celebrating after receiving a very good Ofsted report.
Government inspectors praised the teaching staff for having a very good knowledge and understanding of the Early Learning goals and how children learn. The well planned curriculum is delivered effectively through a stimulating range of play based activities which provide an appropriate level of challenge for the children, they reported.
The children, they said, were making very good progress and were interested and motivated in all the learning opportunities offered to them.
Ofsted inspectors added that they tackled all activities with confidence and eagerness to learn.
Good teamwork, they said, was evident throughout the school and leadership and management was also very good.
The only area of improvement concerned the newly purchased computer and the children's access to it.
The school operates from the Memorial Hall in Pinvin and currently 17 children from two to five years are on the school roll, which also supports a number of children with special needs.
Pre school supervisor, Jane Parsons said: "We are all very pleased with the Ofsted report. We are also delighted with new ride on bikes, funded by the TSB, and we have just head of a £2,000 Community First award for musical instruments. Later in the year we hope to put on a multi-cultural concert."
