MORETON Town Sunday lifted the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League's Bluck Cup for the first time with victory over Hampton WMC at Broadway on Sunday evening.
The first half was goalless with Hampton dominating possession but rarely threatening the Moreton goal.
The second half was more open and Moreton took the lead when Marc Chamberlain finished off an excellent move. The same player struck 15 minutes from time, and although Rignall pulled a goal back five minutes from the end, Moreton hung on to lift the cup.
Peopleton reached the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup final with a penalty shootout win over Crowle. The teams shared four goals, with Brixey and Brant scoring for Peopleton, and Benham and Hatchett replying before Peopleton triumphed on penalties as in the previous round.
Division two was completed with Oddfellows Arms defeating Bredon with goals from Roberts, Harris and Sears, Defford/Besford Utd won at Badsey Rec with Warren, Ashton and Guscott all on target.
Bretforton Old Boys clinched promotion from division three with a seven-goal romp over Ashton. Jon Gregory scored a treble, Lindley, Steeds, Malins and Brown scored the other goals. In division four Eckington remain on course for promotion, Stevens (2), Preist (2), Lane and Payne scoring the goals as they defeated Crown Athletic.
The Tewkesbury Sports cup final between Bredon and Moreton Wanderers on Sunday has been switched from Common Road to Broadway Utd FC because of the possibility of Evesham United being involved in a play-off on Monday.
