ON May 5, we all have the opportunity to decide how both this country and Wyre Forest can move forward.
In the last year, I have been working on local issues that I believe are important for Wyre Forest, and on issues that local people feel are important.
As MP, this work will continue and my promises to Wyre Forest residents are:
Stourport Relief Road: The Conservative transport team in Westminster have already pledged £47 million under a Conservative Government to build this vital road. Not only will it relieve congestion in Stourport but it will also provide vital links to the sugar beet site in Stourport Road, Kidderminster - our best opportunity for new investment into the local economy and jobs boost in the south of Kidderminster.
Education: The Labour Government has pushed Wyre Forest's pupils to the bottom end of the funding league table.
A child in Wyre Forest has £750 less spent on their education than they would get in Birmingham. I think this is intolerable. I have agreed to join my Conservative Worcestershire colleagues to fight for Fairer Funding for Worcestershire to redress this imbalance.
I am also committed to making sure no child loses their right to a first class education through the changes about to be undertaken, and I am committed to making sure the capital funding programme is brought back on track after the Government has delayed funding by two more years.
Crime and disorder: I have campaigned to get 24-hour police cover in both Stourport and Bewdley, but this is just a start.
The only way to tackle crime is to get more police on the streets.
Under a Conservative Government, Wyre Forest will get 53 more police officers over an eight-year period, whilst police bureaucracy and red tape will be slashed, untying officers from their desks.
Health: I am committed to working to accelerate the rate at which services return to Kidderminster Hospital.
That includes upgrading the minor injuries unit to have a full-time casualty doctor with associated services, and returning full services to the birthing unit.
Telephone masts: Residents are fed up with not being allowed their say on where phone masts are located.
I have campaigned for a change in the law so residents can decide. If elected, I will bring in a private member's bill to change the law so residents have the final say.
As the Conservative candidate, I am standing in full support of the Conservative manifesto - one that is committed to working for the forgotten majority of this country by providing more police, lower taxes, controlled immigration, school discipline and cleaner hospitals.
My job is to make sure Conservative policy works for Wyre Forest. If it doesn't, be in no doubt at all that I will never, ever put party before constituents.
I am representing the people of Wyre Forest first and foremost.
