CATHERINE Clark held a jewellery party at her home, when £560 was raised to go towards the drama group.
At the April meeting, members were asked to guess the weight of a simnel cake made by Margaret Dams, June Homer being the winner.
Sheila Gordon read Chris Burt's report of the annual council meeting, then Mrs Clark gave a talk on "Hats".
Social time took the form of poems and quotes read by Kath Edwards, Mrs Homer, Val Butterfield, Mrs Dams and Doreen Chatwin, while Hilda Mottram played the piano.
Members will contest the Annie Harrison Plate at the May meeting, in Blakedown parish rooms, starting at 7.30pm, on May 11.
