FIFTY-ONE anglers turned up for the Sunday open. They fished the Island and the Boundary pools.
A cold east wind made presentation difficult, hence weights were lower than usual. Ian Shepherd (Sensas Portway) fished a skilful match, catching 12oz carp at six metres on pellet and pole.
Mark Moseley and Jim Smith tied for second place, catching carp on the pole, also using pellet. Andy Simmonds came in a close fourth using a slightly different approach, fishing close in with paste.
