DANIEL Keen, a Year 11 pupil at Evesham High School, continues to make huge strides in the world of triathlon.
Spotted by local triathlete Michelle Parsons and sent to a talent identification day at Warwick University, Dan impressed assessors with his 200-metre swim, 1500- metre run and his bike technique.
From the 40 youngsters at the camp, Daniel, coached by Richard Goode, is one of 12 selected for the Birmingham University Triathlon Academy, which will give him access to the World Class programme. This will mean visits to Birmingham on Saturday afternoons to work on fitness and technique with top coaches.
They will also enter him into high-profile races and monitor his performance, diet and lifestyle.
The Junior Athlete Education Programme running at Evesham High School, a designated specialist sports college, will allow him to manage his sporting ambition with his academic studies.
