Evesham's junior rowers made made waves when they took to the water in a weekend of regattas at Birmingham and Nottingham.
At Birmingham, Evesham Rowing Club's J13 boys' quad took the honours and their first 'pot'with victory over Dragon School and Kingston. A strengthening breeze made for choppy conditions in their first regatta, but the Evesham crew of Jordan Bunyan, Jon Farrar, Ben Farrar, Tom Noble, coxed by Dom Matthews, held the lead from the start.
The club's J12 girls' quad managed second place, beating Kingston, while the boys J12 girls' doubles came in second and third behind winners Maidenhead.
It was third time lucky for the two J11 boys doubles, with Robert Bonhm and Lewis Giles taking first place in the final after two re-rows.
The J14 crew of Dan Barnes, Terry Macdonald, Joe Shorrocks, Adam Fensome, coxed by Huw Davies, were beaten into second place in the repecharge, but salvaged some pride by beating local rivals Bewdley.
At Nottingham City Regatta at Holm Piere Point, the J14 girls had great success, with the double scull of Abi Penrose and Amber Grant beating Notts County on the line by 0.02seconds.The girls' J15 coxed quad of Sophie Small, Cati Baird, Oli Jeacock, Tor Messent and cox Rachael Hegarty beat Warrington by two lengths and the Evesham B crew.
And J14 single scull Ruth Whyman managed second place, with the two J14 double sculls coming in third and fifth.
