TOMORROW (Saturday), Flicks in the Sticks screen Two Men went to War and an additional minute-long short entitled The Dawn Guard, filmed in Eardisland in 1941. The show starts at 7.30pm in the parish hall.

Bosbury House is the venue for a fundraising bluebell walk from 2-5pm on Sunday, May 1. Refreshments will be on sale and there is ample parking. The proceeds will be shared between the church and the parish hall.

Red Cross week is from May 1-7 and local representative Margaret Honey will be hosting a soup and cheese lunch at the Old Chapel, Bosbury on Wednesday, May 4 at 12.30pm. There will also be the usual house-to-house collection.

On Friday, May 6 at 7.30pm in the church is Bosbury's favourite village concert. This popular annual event features instrumentalists and singers in very varied programme, with performances from talented 8-80 year olds! Tickets are £6 for adults, £3 children, £15 family, available at the door.

The Artmakers Project continues with a textile workshop for adults on Saturday, May 7 at the parish hall, from 10.30am-3.30pm. This is a free open workshop with lunch provided.

Working with artist Simone Cobbold, the group produce blossom flowers in fabric and paper, to form part of a display for the flower festival arts and craft exhibition in the Old Boys' School on May 21-22. Simone is interested to see any examples or information people may have surrounding the local cider industry. The annual parish meeting for Bosbury and Coddington is on Thursday, May 12 at 7.30pm at the parish hall. It is open to all residents and followed by a parish council meeting.

Detailed planning for the fundraising flower festival is now underway. Your contributions so far, of the essential artefacts to complement the ten flower arrangements depicting Bosbury - The Home Front, are much appreciated. Contact Gill Andrews if you can contribute to any of the following: Land girls, dig for victory, VE Day celebrations, saucepans for Spitfires, evacuees, keep the home fires burning, white cliffs of Dover, the black-out, wartime wedding, the Home Guard.

Any further contributions to the war years exhibition in the parish hall, would also be welcome. Already submitted are detailed photographs of an embroidered and appliqud quilt depicting a family history and various aspects of the war. Jan More, whose grandmother began the quilt in 1939, is shown with her ration book, there are several portrayals of her father in North Africa and in Iraq-Basra 1941, Spitfires, barrage balloons and much more! The original quilt is now at the Imperial War Museum, where it is framed and displayed in the current exhibition The Children's War.

This Sunday, the Rogation service will be in the grounds of Bosbury House at 11am. All welcome.
