RANGERS travelled to Cradley Town on Saturday and returned home with all three West Midlands division two points after a closely fought, typical end-of-season game.

CRADLEY TOWN RES 0, MALVERN RANGERS 1

Both Sam Black and Jamie Roberts had half chances for Rangers whilst at the other end, Matthew Morrison had a great chance for the home side, only to be denied by keeper Marc Wright.

Within two minutes of the resumption, Jamie Roberts had a tremendous shot well-saved by keeper Brett Billingham.

After 29 minutes of the second-half Wright made another good block save. In the 37th minute, Rangers made the all-important breakthrough, Mark Taylor played the ball into the path of Roberts, who did well inside the box before crossing to Black to head home from close range.

The game was marred with four minutes remaining when Danny White and Cradley's Jimmy Turner were needlessly dismissed.

Man-of-the-match was Mark White.

KINGTON TOWN RES 2, MALVERN RANGERS 2

THE previous Wednesday evening Rangers travelled to Kington and in their first ever meeting between the clubs, honours were shared in a 2-2 draw.

It took Rangers 38 minutes of a first-half in which they were generally on top to open the scoring. From a long through-ball, Sam Black ran on and calmly lobbed over the advancing keeper Bryan Kirkham.

Four minutes into the second-half, Kington were level when a long ball down the right was missed by all, including keeper Wright, who had come well off his line. When it was crossed into the far post, Joe Mayglothing scored.

Rangers regained the lead when, from a left-sided Rob Cullen corner, Danny White met the cross at the near post to head home.

Seven minutes from the end Kington again equalised when Wright managed to parry the initial shot but couldn't stop the follow-up shot.

Man-of-the-match was Rob Cullen.
