IN division one of The Soccer Site Malvern League, the showdown is still on for Sunday after Oak Allstars overcame a spirited Cross Keys 3-1, thanks to goals from Jamie Gladwin, Zeki Koral and a first-for-the-club from Anthony Bradford.
Oak Allstars now have to beat Bishops Frome on Sunday at Ledbury rugby club, kick-off 11am, to snatch the title, as a draw will see Bishops Frome retain their honour.
In the division's other game, Morgan Aero 8 kept up their recent good form with a 2-0 victory over visiting Dynamo Ledbury. Morgan had a dream start after two minutes when a Dynamo defender tried to shepherd the ball out but was dispossessed by Philip Dunn. He played the ball to Conrad Arnold, who netted from an acute angle. Dynamo had a couple of good chances as play swung from end-to-end and Ryan Dunn cleared a goalbound effort off the Morgan line. Morgan also had their chances and Matt Ilsley failed to convert when put clear by Cornel Wilde.
With home keeper Steve Davies dealing comfortably with Dynamo efforts, Morgan Aero 8 made the game safe in the 88th minute when Cornel Wilde was bought down in the area and man-of-the-match veteran Phil Leah stepped up to fire the spot-kick home.
The day's only other game in the league was in division two, where Dilligaf United beat visitors Keys Victoria 7-1 with goals from Alan Barnes, two from Pat Locke and four from Blackie Smith. Keys Victoria's goal came from Stuart Hill.
