n THE White Lion Hotel in Upton will host a mini beer festival to tie in with the folk festival. It will be offering an extra 15 local beers and ales from today (Friday). The hotel will hold its main beer festival from May 27 to 30, when more than 25 varieties of real ale will be served.

n A FLEA market and fair takes place at the Church Rooms, Upton, tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm each day.

n THE Friends of Beechwood will hold a plant sale and coffee morning at the care home on May 7. The event runs from 11am to 1pm and features a raffle, tombola, cake stall and white elephant.

n A FUN quiz at Earl's Croome Village Hall starts at 7.30pm tonight (Friday). Entry is £2.50.

n UPTON Civic Society will hold its AGM at 7pm on Wednesday (May 5), at the Memorial Hall, It will be followed by a talk on the Myths of Upton Exposed by Simon Wilkinson. Entry is 50p for members and £1.50 for non-members.

n PART of an outdoor nursery at Clive's Fruit Farm, near Upton, was vandalised overnight on Sunday, April 24. Anyone who can help is urged to call police on 0870 444888, quoting 37e/250405.

n FRESH local produce will be on sale at a farmers' market in Upton tomorrow (Saturday). Stalls will be open from 9am to 2pm, at Old Fire Station car park.

n Volunteer drivers are needed for the Upton Shuttle minibus service. Drivers must have a clean licence and undertake an hour's training. They will be needed to drive one morning every two to three weeks. Anyone who can help should contact Simon Wilkinson on 01684 592894.

n THE Friends of Upton Primary School will hold a car boot sale at the school from 10am tomorrow (Saturday).

n THE Friends of Croome Park group will hold a day of family activities at the National Trust site tomorrow (Saturday). There will be guided tours on the hour from 11am to 4pm and children can enjoy colouring and making bark rubbings. Croome Park will be open from 10am to 5.30pm. Admission is £3.70 for adults and £1.80 for children.
